ASI Alliance to Launch Humanity’s First-Ever Molecular Data Archive on the Moon

News RoomBy News RoomJanuary 18, 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

The Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI), comprising Fetch.ai, SingularityNET, and Ocean Protocol, has announced a bold initiative to archive human civilization’s most important digital and molecular information on the Moon. In collaboration with Iridia, Arweave, and LifeShip, the program focuses on storing the most valuable information, such as ASI tokens, off the surface of the Earth. To do this, the team will use cutting-edge molecular storage technology in an off-world archive.

The Dragonfly Aerospace Lunar Lander will deliver synthetic DNA-encoded data and digital assets to the lunar surface, where ASI tokens (FETs) and the Arweave Genesis Block will be delivered. This archival effort combines cutting-edge molecular technology with the stable environment of the Moon to ensure that these assets are preserved. The ASI Alliance is one of the largest collectives advancing decentralized general-purpose artificial intelligence.

Iridia, a leader in innovation in synthetic DNA encoding that enables molecular data storage, provided the encoding technology for the mission. Such encoding technologies boast unmatched data density and durability with minimal power consumption, making them ideal for archival purposes. The Genesis Block itself, the core aspect of the mission, also serves as a historical document of sorts for the peer-to-peer world of Arweave. It exists in Iridia’s molecular storage facility, isolated from Earth’s weather and seismological distortions. LifeShip’s Blue Ghost Lander will deliver a molecular archive of data and other assets such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL) to the Moon.
