According to the latest announcement, Coinbase is listing Popcat (SOL) (POPCAT) and Pudgy Penguins (PENGU).
It is noteworthy that both of the listed tokens operate on the Solana network and are memecoins.
The exchange recently added both tokens and MORPHO to its roadmap to list. Altcoins recently added to the Coinbase roadmap are starting to be listed on the spot market in a short time. This has become especially evident in the memecoin theme. Cryptocurrency exchanges have recently accelerated the listing of memecoins, which are known for their high trading volume and therefore high commission income.
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao also recently argued that centralized cryptocurrency exchanges should list as many tokens as decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges do. This was a surprising shift for the Binance founder, who had previously advocated a conservative listing policy.
