Exchange Giant Binance Issues Fresh Scam Alert

News RoomBy News RoomJune 16, 2025No Comments1 Min Read

Binance, the leading cryptocurrency exchange, has issued a fresh scam warning about fraudsters faking Binance support.

According to the exchange, scammers might trick you into scanning bogus QR codes or attempt to steal your face.

Bad actors might content potential victims pretending to be Binacne employees in order to “verify” their accounts for security or technical reason.

After that, they ask you to record or send a video of your face, which is supposed to be a mundane step of the verification process. However, in such a way, scammers are attempting to steal the identity of their potential victims in order to be able to bypass the exchange’s security system.

The stolen credentials could be potentially used for tricking facial recognition software and gaining access to someone’s account.

On top of that, malicious actors can potentially send fake QR codes via popular messaging apps such as WhatsApp.

Binance has urged users to refrain from reacting to suspicious requests from Binance, which include recording videos and scanning QR codes.

According to a recent report by CertiK, more than $2.1 billion worth of crypto has been stolen in 2025 so far.
