Massive Liquidations Sweep Crypto Market: Ethereum Leads with $300M

News RoomBy News RoomJune 23, 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

    • Ethereum recorded the highest liquidation at 300.32 million, followed by Bitcoin at 154.24 million.
    • The greatest liquidations were reported in major exchanges such as Bybit and Binance, where Bybit recorded a liquidation volume of $310.76 million.
    • More than 178,000 traders have been liquidated within the last 24 hours, illustrating the market’s volatility.

In the last 24 hours, the crypto market has experienced intense liquidation, with a total of $711.73 million wiped out. Ethereum (ETH) was the most prominent asset with the largest liquidations, followed by Bitcoin (BTC) and Solana (SOL). This liquidation wave can be ascribed to the high liquidity experienced in several exchanges, causing significant losses to traders.

    Ethereum Faces Major Liquidation Event

Ethereum recorded the highest volume of liquidations, $300.32 million, almost half of the total liquidations in the last 24 hours. This sharp decline illuminates the prevailing market turmoil even with the biggest and oldest assets. The steep drops on Ethereum have surprised traders, 133,280 ETH having been liquidated in the past 24 hours.

Bitcoin came in a close second with liquidations of just over $154.24 million. Bitcoin has not been an exception to the volatile relationship in the cryptocurrency market, with pressure exerted on the digital currency even though it is a widely used coin. The decline in Solana (SOL) is significant, liquidating about 32.05 million SOL. This dip may not be as severe as Ethereum’s or Bitcoin’s, but it indicates serious strain in the wider altcoin market.

    Top Liquidated Assets and Exchanges

Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, XRP, and Dogecoin (DOGE) were the top five assets that held the highest liquidity levels. Liquidations in XRP totaled $22.41 million, and Dogecoin liquidations wiped out 11.25 million. These mainstream liquidations are evidence of the volatility in the market among the mainstream coins and meme tokens alike.

Bybit, Binance, and Gate led the exchange with the highest liquidation volumes, with Bybit registering a high liquidation value of $310.76 million. There was also massive liquidation, with HTX over $72 million. HTX was the biggest individual liquidation order, consisting of the ETH/USDT pair at $712.23 million.

The sheer volume of losses has not weakened the market, although 178,403 traders have been liquidated over the past 24 hours. Such exorbitant liquidation is suggestive of speculative business as well as higher ventures in the turbulent climate.
