Boxing Legend Manny Pacquiao Issues Thanks to Shiba Inu (SHIB) Community for Charity Contributions

News RoomBy News RoomMay 30, 2024No Comments2 Mins Read

Filipino politician and former boxing champion Manny Pacquiao is sending a special thanks to the Shiba Inu (SHIB) community.

The boxing legend recently issued a short video thanking the SHIB Army in response to charitable contributions to his philanthropic Manny Pacquiao Foundation.

“Hello, SHIB Community. Thank you for your commitment to helping those in need. We appreciate your continued support of the Manny Pacquiao Foundation, and we are excited for Shibarium.”

Shibarium is a SHIB layer-2 scaling solution initially released as a beta bridge for public use in July 2023. It utilized both plasma and proof-of-stake (PoS) technology to allow investors to shift tokens between Shibarium and the leading smart contract platform Ethereum (ETH). The team behind the scaling solution announced the completion of its hard fork earlier this month.

Last fall, the legendary boxer announced that his foundation would accept donations in SHIB and implement Shibarium into its operations.

The foundation aids families and communities in need around the world with housing projects, anti-human trafficking, and COVID-19 relief initiatives.

According to the foundation’s website, Shiba Inu is one of many cryptocurrencies accepted for donations, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum and SHIB-rival Dogecoin (DOGE).

SHIB is worth $0.0000266 at time of writing, up 9% in the last week.
