Assisterr took home two prizes at BeWater’s recent AI Crypto Hackathon – the US $2,000 Neo Bounty and the $5,000 first prize in the Tokenized AI and Incentives track. Assisterr’s AI solution was deployed on the Neo X EVM sidechain TestNet.

Assisterr is a University of Cambridge-based startup establishing a network of community-owned small language models. The team seeks to enable communities to collaborate and aggregate their expertise in niche subjects by developing, deploying, and monetizing SLMs. To monetize SLMs, Assisterr will distribute its native ASSR token to entities that contribute to the ecosystem by sharing data.

Nick Havryliak, Assisterr co-founder, expressed excitement for winning the Tokenized AI and Incentives track and Neo bounty at the BeWater hackathon. He said, “We treat hackathons as a great playground to test R&D ideas, meet potential strategic partners, and work together on ideas that are valuable for industry on a scale, but shouldn’t be perfect immediately. We appreciate the support and hope this will be a great start of a long-term collaboration between Assisterr and Neo, beneficial for both our communities.”

Currently, the team is running an incentivized TestNet campaign to test and enhance its AI agents. The campaign will run for another 1 to 2 months in multiple stages to provide community members the opportunity to participate. Tasks for the campaign include running an AI agent locally and engaging in social media activities.

Looking forward, Assisterr intends to add to its SLM store a developer relations AI agent trained on technical documentation and Neo’s codebase. The goal for the agent is to provide more exposure for Neo’s tech stack while accelerating dApp development and onboarding users with less friction.
