According to today’s EVM Mainnet Unleashed update from IOTA, as of June 4, 2024, IOTA has officially launched its mainnet EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine). Recent infrastructure updates and new tools are designed to enhance the functionality and adoption of IOTA EVM. This update follows CNF’s recent announcement of Leap IOTA’s EVM: Next Generation Infrastructure Upgrades Unveiled.
Collin BROWN, a prominent member of the crypto community and blockchain expert, spoke about the announcement of a Layer 2 EVM-compatible solution, IOTA EVM, which introduces features such as smart contracts, cross-chain functionality, parallel processing, and enhanced security against MEV attacks.
The IOTA EVM mainnet provides full compatibility with the Ethereum EVM, allowing for seamless deployment of Solidity smart contracts. It includes innovative features such as parallel transaction processing for increased scalability and the unique IOTA Layer 1 Native Asset Framework to ensure secure and fair transaction processing by preventing front-running and extracting value.
