Korea Smart Healthcare and SL Foundation Partner on AI and Blockchain Platform

News RoomBy News RoomJune 17, 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

On June 10, the Korea Smart Healthcare Association and SL Foundation, a developer of a protocol that collects and analyzes medical data, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to form a strategic partnership focused on medical technology innovation and improving global public health. The collaboration aims to develop a new medical platform using artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and multimodal technologies.

The Korea Smart Healthcare Association plays a leading role in South Korea’s digital healthcare sector, supporting the development of digital medical devices. Its members include top level hospitals such as Seoul National University Hospital, Wonju Severance Christian Hospital, and Korea University Anam Hospital, as well as companies like Kakao Healthcare. The association operates with support from key government bodies, including the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Ministry of Science and ICT.

Under the MOU, both organizations will work on collaborative research and commercial initiatives. These include building a multimodal medical dataset, creating a platform for training explainable AI (XAI) models, and launching a marketplace for AI applications in healthcare.

The partnership also covers the development of AI-powered medical devices, blockchain systems for secure data handling, and transparent AI training processes. SL Foundation’s native token will be used for data transactions within the platform, supporting a decentralized approach to medical data sharing.

In addition to technology development, the agreement includes academic collaboration, joint research programs, and workforce training to support progress in personalized healthcare and improve transparency in medical research.
