Marlin has announced a collaboration with Aither Protocol to bolster security for AI agent execution within Agent Virtual Machines (AVMs). This partnership integrates Marlin’s distributed compute network into AVMs, ensuring secure enclaves for AI workloads while maintaining key features such as tool integration and agent collaboration. The integration enables AVMs to use Marlin’s trusted execution environments (TEEs) to support AI computations. These secure enclaves allow AI agents to operate within a protected, verifiable, and tamper-resistant framework, mitigating risks associated with AI execution in open and decentralized networks. Marlin’s confidential computing infrastructure provides both serverless computing and dedicated instances, offering flexibility for developers to build secure AI applications while ensuring high performance and scalability.

Marlin is a decentralized computing protocol that utilizes TEEs to support complex workloads such as DeFi strategies, automation tasks, and AI models. It acts as a coprocessor for blockchain applications, enabling smart contracts and web2 APIs to leverage scalable off-chain computation. Marlin’s Compute Network: Oyster CVM and Oyster Serverless

According to the firm’s report, Marlin offers two primary solutions under its Oyster compute network. Oyster CVM, or Confidential VM, provides dedicated computing instances that developers can rent for flexible timeframes, similar to cloud services like AWS. It offers monitoring, uptime guarantees, and high security using TEEs. Oyster Serverless allows on-demand execution of functions without requiring developers to manage or rent instances manually. It ensures cost-efficient and scalable computations while maintaining secure enclaves.

Marlin’s integration with AVMs brings multiple benefits, including tamper-proof execution that prevents malicious node operators from manipulating AI computations. Data confidentiality is ensured so that input data remains private and inaccessible to unauthorized entities. The platform supports horizontal and vertical scaling for both serverless and dedicated computing. Off-chain computing enables AI and blockchain applications to perform efficient and verifiable computations outside the main chain. Unlike traditional ZK coprocessors, Marlin supports Linux-based applications and multiple computing environments.
