The crypto and NFT gaming space is busier than ever lately, what with prominent games starting to release, token airdrops piling up, and a seemingly constant array of other things happening at all times. It’s a lot to take in!

Luckily, Decrypt’s GG is all over it. And if you need a quick way to get caught up on the latest moves around crypto video games, we’re happy to present This Week in Crypto Games.

Our weekend roundup serves up the biggest news from the past week, along with a few other tidbits you might have missed. We also showcase a few of our original stories from the week.

Biggest news

MemeFi delay: Telegram tap-to-earn combat game MemeFi has delayed its airdrop date yet again on Wednesday, pushing back its final snapshot of player activity as the team prepares for the Sui token launch.

In a Telegram community post, the game’s team blamed remaining work to be completed for the token listing on the “developer and legal side.” Now the token launch is scheduled for November 22, with the final snapshot taking place on November 15.

This is the second formal delay for the token launch, which was originally dated for October 9 and later moved to November 12.

Tomarket bans reverse: Many players of Telegram game Tomarket complained that they were banned for cheating, even though they say they didn’t. This came as the project revealed token allocations ahead of its TOMA token listing and airdrop on The Open Network (TON).

After receiving the complaints, the Tomarket team said it would review such claims and ultimately removed the ban hammer from some accounts, allowing those players to receive tokens in the upcoming airdrop. For now, there is no confirmed date for the TOMA token listing and airdrop.

X Empire surge: The entire crypto market has been soaring since Donald Trump secured his reelection as U.S. President. One of the biggest gainers the day following the news was the token for Elon Musk-themed Telegram tap-to-earn game X Empire, which has only continued to surge.

X, the token on The Open Network (TON) for X Empire, jumped 53% over 24 hours. But now, as of this writing, the token has surged by more than 1,000% over the past week, pushing to a new all-time high price of $0.00056 earlier Sunday.

The game pays unofficial tribute to Elon Musk, who played a key role in Trump’s campaign. The Tesla founder appeared at a number of Trump rallies, taking the stage to endorse the Republican candidate. Musk has nothing to do with X Empire, though in October, some players upset about not being eligible for the airdrop tweeted complaints at him.
