Tech giants Microsoft and OpenAI are reportedly planning a data center project that could revolutionize the field of artificial intelligence (AI). The project, called “Stargate”, involves building a supercomputer powered by millions of special server chips.

The project could cost up to $100 billion, according to people familiar with the talks. This information comes from people who spoke with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and others who have seen Microsoft’s initial cost estimates.

Microsoft is expected to finance the project, which is expected to be 100 times more expensive than some of today’s largest data centers.

The proposed US-based supercomputer “Stargate” is projected to be the largest in a series of facilities the companies plan to build over the next six years.

Following the development, the Worldcoin (WLD) project, founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, made a sudden jump and increased by approximately 5% within seconds. However, WLD has been criticized for privacy concerns. In response to these criticisms, Worldcoin open-sourced orbs that scan people’s eye irises.
