Neo has released a major upgrade to the Neo X TestNet, which enhances the anti-MEV and consensus mechanisms. This is included in version 0.4.0, which was launched on June 23.

The update introduces a preview of ZK-based DKG verification, which will be available in the KeyManagement system contract following an update and audit.

This is accompanied by support for ZK-based DKG execution during dBFT consensus, which will help ensure stability of the DKG synchronization protocol and the features built upon it, such as the anti-MEV mechanisms.

Alongside other optimizations and enhancements, 0.4.0 includes a new hard fork, NeoXEthSig, which adopts a canonical format for TPKE block signatures. Version 0.4.0 maintains full compatibility with TestNet v0.3.2 and MainNet v0.2.2.

Several panics were solved in the update, located in the anti-MEV cache pool, in dBFT on miner shutdown, and during PreBlock verification.
