A new fitness tracking application called StepMania is now available via messaging app Telegram, aiming to transform daily step counts into digital rewards for players—with a future token launch on The Open Network (TON) planned.

The app, which integrates with Apple Health and Google Health Connect, allows users to earn in-game benefits through physical activity. The game includes leaderboards, squad challenges, and influencer-hosted tournaments.

It’s similar in approach to move-to-earn pioneer Stepn, which is built on Solana, but without the need to purchase an NFT to earn token rewards.

Currently, players earn in-game coins and raffle tickets, the latter of which can be entered into a drawing for a chance to win real-world prizes—such as an iPhone 16 Pro, PlayStation 5, or a Huawei wearable fitness tracker, as well as a Telegram Premium subscription and more.

But a representative for the game confirmed to Decrypt that the game’s developers have committed to launching a token sometime in the future. Telegram apps with crypto integrations are required to launch on TON due to a recent exclusivity agreement.

StepMania is backed by The Open Platform (TOP), a prominent venture builder in the TON blockchain ecosystem. Over the coming months, the company plans to expand through partnerships with TON-based projects, brands, events, and wearable companies to enhance the platform’s offerings.
