Caillard explains that each of these stones is a fully on-chain native 3D file and that the unique advantages and combination mechanics are currently being developed, allowing holders to evolve their stones over time.

Specifically, the level IV Stones represent their perfect stage of refinement and include a dedicated “Runa” to obtain exclusive advantages. The artist then adds:

“Wisely faceted to enhance their colors and mineral purity, they reveal an inner beauty and surprising power.“

Leo Caillard: the artist who gave shape to the Runestone on Bitcoin Ordinals

Leo Caillard has become increasingly famous in the crypto space, especially after shaping the Runestone, the Bitcoin project led by the collector Leonidas.

In reality, Caillard is traditionally known for his marble sculptures, carved in his Parisian studio, which become part of private collections, public spaces, and museums around the world.

In a post on X, Caillard introduces himself to the community by talking about himself and his contribution to the Runestone project.

In fact, Caillard stated that he was intrigued by Leonidas’s proposal which involved the artist sculpting a Bitcoin block in a precious digital stone. From here, Caillard stated:

“The Runestone is a statement on the permanence of art, whether it is carved into the earth or encoded in the ether. It symbolizes humanity’s enduring desire to leave marks that last beyond their own life and to communicate with future generations.”

Not only that, Caillard saw in that endeavor a result beyond technique, but rather he defined Runestone as a bridge between past, present, and future, to remind that art, in all its forms, seeks to capture the ephemeral and make it eternal.
