Shima Capital Bet on WOJAK, TRUMP and Three Other Memecoins

News RoomBy News RoomMay 29, 2024No Comments2 Mins Read

Venture capital fund (VC) Shima Capital has accumulated five different memcoins on Monday, according to Nansen. The venture capitalist placed bets on Ethereum-based memecoins MAGA, TRUMP, WOJAK, DEGEN and ANDY. At the time of writing, four of the five positions have fallen significantly. Shima’s highest bet was the DEGEN token, with $49,561 bought in the last 24 hours. Since they acquired the memecoin, its price has fallen by almost 4%.

The investment in TRUMP was significantly smaller, with Shima committing $8,992 to a memecoin themed around the US presidential election. At the time of writing, their TRUMP assets had lost 8%. Shima Capital invested $6,721 in another US presidential election token called MAGA. This memecoin has fallen 8.4% in the last seven hours after its acquisition.

ANDY is a memecoin that has already been deployed on various blockchains such as Solana and Blast. Shima Capital has committed $3,677 to its Ethereum-based version with a 6.3% drawdown since the investment. The latest memecoin investment made by the venture capitalist this Monday was a $9,401 investment in WOJAK, which has resulted in a 20% return so far and is also the only profitable memecoin bet from Shima Capital at the time of writing.
