The impact of Ethereum’s halving can be analyzed through observing its past performance in the first quarter of subsequent years. Analysts and market participants have taken note of this persistent trend and especially as Ethereum gears up for another important journey in 2024. Analyzing historical data it can be seen that the cryptocurrency delivers its returns in the first quarter after the halving year and becomes the investor’s concern.

    Reviewing Historical Performance

By analysing Ethereum’s weekly returns in Q1, the researchers establish that the rise of halving years has been massive. For instance, in the first quarter of the year 2016 we noticed that Ethereum had made a start with a clear upward trajectory, improved through many subsequent weeks. Its value rose to a limit and reached an 85.75% boost in the 10th week.

Similarly, this virtual currency achieved great first run up to the first week in the year it rose by 22.66% followed by more up swings that added 21.31% to its value in the later part of the week such soaring performance was however accompanied by slight decline at some points.

This is a great performance for Ethereum especially because the result for this quarter suggests that Ethereum does not regress during pessimistic periods, but rather excels during the market optimism periods.

    2024’s Halving Year Expectations

Since 2024 is another halving year for Ethereum, this year is expected to register significant market activities. Aluminium weekly returns year to date also support a trend where performance of the week alone was above 28/100. Analysts are waiting to see what other prior halving years in Q1 will create in Ethereum .

LTV still looks elevated, which suggests that there’s plenty of demand for Ethereum among investors; more institutional actors appear to be entering the space; Ethereum’s blockchain is useful in lots of different ways.
